Slipped Through His Fingers

Gooooood morning fellow bloggers...

I am writing this post because Michael would like you all to know that he misses me.

No, I'm not joking... I spoke to him last week on the phone for 3 hours and he literally asked me if I was going to blog this and I laughed and said.... "ummmm, I'm not sure?"

He told me to at least tell everyone that he had called to tell me "he missed me and that he is afraid that he let me slip through his fingers."

Oh... really?

Imagine how I felt on that phone call? I pretty much, well tried... to dodge every reference he made to our relationship until he would ask me directly.

The next morning on my way to work... the first prayer out of my mouth was... "Ohhhh Lord, how things can change in 24 hours."

He asked me if we could get coffee when he is going to be up here in May... unfortunately/fortunately I will be in Chicago the weekend he will be in NJ. I guess that's a good thing? You know... not being available the first time he is.

This should be interesting...

A Year Ago Today...

So I know I've been terrible at blogging.... but this morning I thought of all you followers and where my life is at right now and I figured I would post something.

This time a year ago... I was introducing you all to the new boy in my life. Michael.
This time a year ago... I was learning to love someone that loved the Lord like I do.
This time a year ago... I was smitten.
This time a year ago... I never thought I would be back in the same position.

Alone.

Now, I am not getting all sappy on you all, but it's hard to not think about how excited and happy I was back then and how things can just change so quickly. I was updating you with errands that needed to be run before Michael arrived into NYC for the weekend. The first weekend of May 2009 was one of the best weekends of my life. And I can still say that without hesitation today. Michael is a great guy, but I guess he is just not the "great guy" for me.

And I am ok with that.

I think I just struggle sometimes with having patience in meeting my "great guy". Hmph.

Still holding out for the right one...

The Resurrection...

I attended my sisters church down in Baltimore, MD this past weekend for Easter Sunday and this was the video that her church played at the beginning of the service. I liked it so much that I took the Music Directors business card and asked him if he could send me the video.

Thought I would share... :)

Great Faith

Great faith isn't given to some and not to others. It is a choice we make to trust and pursue God even when at first there appears to be no response.

This morning I needed that verse. While reading my Proverbs 31 Devotional, it hit me hard. I am going to be dead honest... I feel like I am stuck in a weird place, and I truly believe it's because I have been slipping with my devotions. Yes, I read my online devotional every morning... but for a 24 year old, growing in her faith, single women... that isn't enough for me. I want to crave it, be completely immersed in the thought of spending time with Him.

I struggle with that a lot... it's a roller coaster each week. Some weeks are great, others are nonexistent. I think I struggle most with the whole "being single and 24" thing. I know my time will come... I get it. But I will be honest and say that I enjoy sharing my life with someone else... granted, yes I don't want to share it with just anyone... but shoot me, if sometimes I just get in these ruts... where I wonder... "when is it going to be my turn... for real?"

I am not in any rush to get married... trust me. But sometimes I get swept away in thoughts of old relationships... and the good things. Those are the times that I have to remind myself that there WERE bad things... and that there's a reason for everything.

Sooo remember my"Man Crush"? Back from last year? Well, I still see him pretty often, but yesterday was a bit of a gut shot for me. He walked into church with another girl. I was shocked. He has never come across as the "ready for a relationship" type of person, so I was surprised to say the least and a little jealous if I'm being honest.

I guess it's just the always never knowing what could have been. But I know there's a reason nothing ever came of it... just not sure what that reason is yet.

Needless to say... I've sort of been disappointed in myself. I feel like I've let myself slip back into the rut of being so caught up in the fact that I'm single again... that it's overshadowed my relationship with God. Last year, after reading "When God Writes Your Love Story", I was content. I was excited, but also patient at the same time that God had a plan and I couldn't be more excited about it! Now, I sit here in that same rut again... a year later.

And I hate it.

I need to smack myself around a bit and get back on track. ASAP.

The Ring...

Hey Everyone!

I've been neglecting this blog over here because I've been spending SO much time on my photography blog... so sorry... no excuses!

Anyhoodle.. this weekend I headed down to Baltimore for my sisters 2nd Engagement party! We had one up here in NJ and then anotherone down in Baltimore where she lives so more of her family and friends could attend.

While I was down there I stayed at her apartment for the first time and it was SO cute! The entire left side of the apartment had exposed brick walls. I was obsessed. Literally.

So what did I do? I took out my trusty camera and starting shooting pictures of my sisters engagement ring just for fun!

They came out awesome... at least I think :) Head over to my photography blog to check them out!

Happy Wednesday!
